Sheltering Forgotten Lives with Dignity

Home to the abandoned, where compassion brings new life.

Who We Are

A refuge for abandoned, mentally challenged souls — offering shelter, care, and dignity.

The journey began with a single heart-wrenching incident. Shri Ashokbhai Jain saw a mentally ill girl being mistreated near a bus station. Unable to forget her suffering, he was moved to create a space where no woman would ever face such cruelty alone. With his family’s blessings and friends’ support, the Ashram began with three women and grew into a sanctuary of hope.

Established in 2010 without any government aid, the Ashram is now home to over 500 women and 40 men. It functions solely through donations and community love. Our residents, once ridiculed and lost, now live with care, emotional warmth, medical support, and the joy of festive celebrations — all under the divine shelter of Maa Amba.

Our Approach

Empathy in Action, Every Day

At Jay Ambe Ashram, our approach is centered on unconditional care and holistic dignity. We do not just house individuals — we build an emotional bridge between society and the forsaken.

When mentally challenged women and men are found in critical, neglected states — sometimes wounded, dirty, or abused — we welcome them with food, clean clothes, medical care, and most importantly, warmth. Every new arrival is named with love when no identity exists and is given a second chance at life.
Their daily routine is carefully managed with attention to hygiene, safety, and comfort. Over time, they begin to adapt to structured care and respond better to their surroundings.

We go beyond rescue by actively searching for families to reunite lost members. With help from authorities and blessings from Maa Amba, many have found their way back home. Celebrations, spiritual care, and community visits create a nurturing family-like atmosphere — where healing happens every day.
